For over 40+ years Barry has been involved in the game of football as both a player and a coach. As an athlete he has played in the NAIAA, NFC, CJFL, Mid - Atlantic Football Conference - named to the 1981 Mid Atlantic All Star Team as DT. In 1980-81 Barry spent time on the Toronto Argonaut practice roster. Barry has achieved awards as a player on both sides of the ball as an offensive and defensive lineman. From 2003-2006 Barry was the Head Coach of the Milton Marauders helping to guide them to a Provincial and National title in 2004, an undefeated season in 2005, consecutive first place finishes in 2005 & 2006 and 3 consecutive NFC Championship game appearances- 2004, 2005 & 2006. In 2005 Barry was the NFC's Coach of the Year. In 2007 Barry took over the reigns as Head Coach of the Oakville Longhorns a team he played for as a defensive tackle and offensive tackle from 1983-1986. In Barry's first year as head coach of the Horns he directed them to a 4th place finish and a 5 & 3 regular season record, the season ended in a close fought battle in the semi - finals against the Tri - City Outlaws. Barry has also coached with the University of Guelph Gryphon's in the OUA as a defensive line coach for 2 seasons in 2005 and 2006. Barry looks forward to bringing a Provincial and National title to Oakville in 2008. |
